For Bungalows and Row Houses (Marve Road, Malvani, Orlem) Some parts of Malad still have independent bungalows and row houses, especially towards Marve Road and the Malvani side. • Marble is porous. Oil, ghee, and coloured powders seep into the surface and create permanent marks.

• Marble cracks if mishandled during transport or if there is any settling in the building structure.

• Limited design flexibility you cannot do 3D curves, translucent panels, or integrated LED backlighting with marble.

What Corian Solves Corian (originally developed by DuPont) is an engineered solid surface material made from natural minerals and acrylic polymer. It was designed for environments that demand hygiene, durability, and beauty hospitals, five star hotel countertops, and high end kitchens use this material for the same reasons it works perfectly for mandirs:

• Completely non porous: Turmeric, kumkum, oil, camphor, flower pigments nothing penetrates the surface. Wipe with a damp cloth and it looks exactly as it did on day one. After 10 years of daily puja, your mandir stays as pristine as it was when installed.

• 100 percent termite proof and moisture proof: Corian is not an organic material termites cannot feed on it, and Mumbai's humidity has zero effect. No treatments, no maintenance, no seasonal worries.

• Fire resistant: Families light diyas, agarbatti, and dhoop daily. Corian does not catch fire and does not emit toxic fumes. This matters especially in homes with children.

• Lightweight compared to marble: A Corian mandir weighs 60 to 80 percent less than an equivalent marble piece. It can be carried through narrow staircases and standard elevators without difficulty.

• Seamless construction: Corian pieces are joined using a chemical bonding process that creates invisible, perfectly smooth joints. No gaps where dust, moisture, or insects can accumulate.

• Thermoformable: This is what makes Corian special for temple design it can be heated and shaped into 3D curves, domes, pillars, and intricate architectural forms that are impossible with flat marble slabs or rigid wood.

• Repairable: Minor scratches can be buffed out completely, restoring the original surface. Try doing that with marble or polished wood.

• LED integration: Translucent Corian variants allow LED light to pass through the material itself. We use LEDs rated for 50,000 plus hours that is over 15 years of daily use. The backlighting creates a warm devotional ambiance that transforms your puja experience.
