Visit Our Corian Temple Display Center Just a Short Ride from Malad
If you live in Malad, you have an advantage that most of our customers across India and abroad do not have you can easily visit us to see exactly how your Corian mandir will look and feel. Our Satguru Creations Santacruz West Display Center is just a few stations south of Malad on the Western Railway line.
We have been manufacturing Corian temples at our Chandivali factory since 1975 three generations of our family have worked here. Over 10,000 mandirs have left this workshop for homes in 45 plus countries. But some of our most frequent visitors are families from Malad who drop in on a weekend, spend an hour looking at finished temples, touch the material, see the LED backlighting in person, and then sit down with our design team to plan their own.
There is no pressure to buy when you visit. Most families come 2 to 3 times before finalising their design. We would rather you take your time and get exactly what you want.
Designing Corian Mandirs for Different Types of Malad Homes
Malad is one of the most diverse residential areas in Mumbai the kind of home you live in determines what mandir design will work best. Here is what we typically recommend based on the type of residence:
For Apartments in Malad East (Kurar, Evershine Nagar, Dindoshi) Malad East has many established residential societies where apartments range from compact 1 BHKs to spacious 3 BHKs. The common challenge here is finding space for a proper mandir without making the living room feel cramped.
-
Wall mounted Corian mandirs (2 to 3 feet wide): These are the most practical choice. They mount flush against the wall at eye level, so they take zero floor space. We include a built in shelf for daily puja items and concealed LED strip lighting behind the main panel that creates a soft, devotional glow.
-
Corner fit designs: These work well in rooms where you have an unused corner between two walls. We manufacture L shaped Corian mandirs that slot perfectly into corners this gives you a dedicated sacred space without blocking any walkway or furniture arrangement.
-
Full room installations: For families in ground floor or first floor flats who have a small dedicated pooja room, we can design a full wall to wall Corian installation mandir with a shikhar (dome top) in the centre, side panels with CNC carved deity motifs, and integrated storage below for puja samagri.
For High Rises in Malad West (Link Road, Infinity IT Park Area, Mindspace) The newer high rise towers in Malad West tend to have larger living spaces, higher ceilings, and contemporary interiors. Families here often want a mandir that serves as both a spiritual focal point and a design statement.
-
Floor standing Corian mandirs (4 to 6 feet tall): With 3D dome shikhars, round or square pillars, and multi layer LED backlighting. These are our signature pieces the kind of mandir that visitors notice the moment they enter your home. Translucent Corian panels allow light to pass through the material itself, creating an ethereal effect especially in the evening.
-
Mandirs with sliding or pocket doors: These are popular in modern apartments where the living and dining areas are open plan. You can keep the doors closed for a clean, minimal look and open them during puja time. Our Corian doors slide silently on German made tracks.
-
Custom colour matching: If your apartment has a specific interior theme (all white, warm wood tones, grey minimalist), we have 100 plus Corian colours and can match your mandir to your decor. We bring physical colour swatches to your home so you can compare against your walls and furniture in natural light.
For Bungalows and Row Houses (Marve Road, Malvani, Orlem) Some parts of Malad still have independent bungalows and row houses, especially towards Marve Road and the Malvani side. These homes usually have more floor space and sometimes a dedicated pooja room that has been used for a wooden mandir for years.
-
Replacing old wooden mandirs: We often get called in to replace old wooden mandirs in these homes. The wooden mandir has served the family for 15 to 20 years but now has termite damage, oil stains that will not come out, and a worn appearance. We measure the exact space where the old mandir sat and design a Corian replacement at our Chandivali factory that fits the same footprint so you do not need any civil work or wall modifications.
-
Grand pooja rooms: For larger pooja rooms, we build full room installations Corian back panel running wall to wall, the main mandir as the centrepiece with traditional carved pillars, a raised platform (chabutara) at the base, side niches for smaller deities, and ceiling integrated downlighting. These installations typically take 5 to 6 weeks to manufacture and one day to install.
Why Malad Families Are Choosing Corian Over Wood and Marble
Every week, we meet families from Malad who are considering three options for their home mandir wood (usually Sagwan or teak), marble, or Corian. Here is an honest comparison based on what we have seen over 50 years of manufacturing:
The Problem with Wooden Mandirs in Mumbai Mumbai's humidity levels stay between 60 to 85 percent for most of the year, and spike above 90 percent during the four monsoon months. This is harsh on wood. Even treated Sagwan (teak) mandirs develop issues over time:
-
Joints loosen as wood expands and contracts with humidity changes.
-
Termites are a persistent threat in Mumbai annual pest treatment costs Rs 2,000 to 5,000 and does not always prevent damage.
-
Turmeric, kumkum, and oil from daily puja stain wood permanently. Within 2 to 3 years of regular use, the surface around the deity area develops a yellowish discolouration that no amount of cleaning can remove.
-
The lacquer or polish finish dulls and cracks, requiring expensive re polishing every few years.
The Problem with Marble Mandirs Marble is beautiful but presents practical challenges:
-
A marble mandir of reasonable size weighs 400 to 800 kg transporting it to upper floors is extremely difficult, especially in buildings without service elevators.
-
Marble is porous. Oil, ghee, and coloured powders seep into the surface and create permanent marks.
-
Marble cracks if mishandled during transport or if there is any settling in the building structure.
-
Limited design flexibility you cannot do 3D curves, translucent panels, or integrated LED backlighting with marble.
What Corian Solves Corian (originally developed by DuPont) is an engineered solid surface material made from natural minerals and acrylic polymer. It was designed for environments that demand hygiene, durability, and beauty hospitals, five star hotel countertops, and high end kitchens use this material for the same reasons it works perfectly for mandirs:
-
Completely non porous: Turmeric, kumkum, oil, camphor, flower pigments nothing penetrates the surface. Wipe with a damp cloth and it looks exactly as it did on day one. After 10 years of daily puja, your mandir stays as pristine as it was when installed.
-
100 percent termite proof and moisture proof: Corian is not an organic material termites cannot feed on it, and Mumbai's humidity has zero effect. No treatments, no maintenance, no seasonal worries.
-
Fire resistant: Families light diyas, agarbatti, and dhoop daily. Corian does not catch fire and does not emit toxic fumes. This matters especially in homes with children.
-
Lightweight compared to marble: A Corian mandir weighs 60 to 80 percent less than an equivalent marble piece. It can be carried through narrow staircases and standard elevators without difficulty.
-
Seamless construction: Corian pieces are joined using a chemical bonding process that creates invisible, perfectly smooth joints. No gaps where dust, moisture, or insects can accumulate.
-
Thermoformable: This is what makes Corian special for temple design it can be heated and shaped into 3D curves, domes, pillars, and intricate architectural forms that are impossible with flat marble slabs or rigid wood.
-
Repairable: Minor scratches can be buffed out completely, restoring the original surface. Try doing that with marble or polished wood.
-
LED integration: Translucent Corian variants allow LED light to pass through the material itself. We use LEDs rated for 50,000 plus hours that is over 15 years of daily use. The backlighting creates a warm devotional ambiance that transforms your puja experience.
How It Works From First Visit to Installation
Our process is straightforward and transparent. Here is what to expect:
Step 1: Visit or WhatsApp Consultation You can visit our Santacruz West Display Center (a short train ride from Malad) to see finished mandirs, touch the Corian material, and look at our design portfolio. If you prefer, send us a photo of your space on WhatsApp (8369335359) and we will suggest 2 to 3 design options with approximate pricing within 24 hours.
Step 2: Design Finalisation and Measurement Once you have shortlisted a design direction, our team visits your Malad home for precise measurements. We note wall dimensions, electrical points for LED wiring, floor levelness, and any structural considerations. For Malad, there is no travel charge you are our neighbours.
Step 3: Manufacturing (4 to 6 Weeks) Your mandir is built entirely at our Chandivali factory. The process includes CNC machining for precision cuts and carved patterns, hand finishing by our artisans for details that machines cannot replicate, LED panel integration and electrical testing, surface polishing, and a final quality inspection.
Step 4: Delivery and Installation (1 Day) For Malad, delivery is handled directly from our Chandivali factory. Our installation team brings the mandir, positions it exactly where planned, handles wall mounting or floor placement, connects the LED backlighting, and does a final cleanup. The whole installation takes 2 to 4 hours depending on size and complexity.
Pricing Direct from Manufacturer
Because you are buying directly from the manufacturer not a dealer, interior decorator, or furniture store there is no middleman markup. Our pricing is typically 30 to 40 percent lower than what you would pay at a retail showroom for a comparable quality Corian mandir.
-
Compact wall mounted mandirs (2 to 3 ft): Starting from approximately Rs 61,000
-
Mid size floor standing with LED (3 to 4 ft): Rs 90,000 to Rs 120,000
-
Premium 3D designs with dome, pillars, and storage (4 to 6 ft): Rs 130,000 to Rs 175,000 plus
-
Full pooja room installations: Custom quoted based on room dimensions
We also offer flexible EMI options if you would prefer to spread the cost. Every mandir includes LED backlighting, installation at your home, and our quality guarantee.
