Wall-Mount Corian Mandir with Doors and Floating Shelves
This wall-mount Corian mandir with doors and floating shelves is the most functional floating design in our wall-hung range. A hinged door unit protects the primary deity altar from dust and kitchen vapours, and separate floating shelves above and beside the door cabinet carry additional idols, framed photos or a diya tray. The entire assembly clears the floor, hangs on a concealed steel cleat load-tested to 50 kg, and distributes weight across a twin-cleat system because of the added storage. Manufactured in our Mumbai factory by Satguru Creations since 1975, with 10,000-plus Corian mandirs delivered across India and export to the USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Design styles this piece suits
The door-plus-floating-shelf format fits four interior settings: contemporary Indian apartment with a plain gloss door and three floating shelves in Glacier White; designer villa with a carved kalash door panel, ivory Corian and a stepped three-shelf arrangement; heritage Gujarati-Marwari home with a peacock-motif door and dual-tone gloss-on-matte shelves; minimalist condo abroad with a plain matte door, two asymmetric floating shelves and a hairline gold band at the door edge. The shelves are sized so you can load and unload pooja saman with one hand — no rummaging behind a door for daily-use items.
Door and shelf craftsmanship
The defining craft on this design is the hardware. Each hinged door runs on concealed soft-close hinges — no visible hinge pin, no slam, and the door self-latches quietly with magnetic catches. The door panel itself is a CNC-routed Corian face with the motif hand-carved at 6 to 10 mm depth, then seamlessly bonded to an inner support rib so it never warps. Floating shelves are built from 19 mm Corian stock with a concealed steel flat-bar inside each shelf, hand-bonded to a wall-side French cleat. This gives each shelf an independent 15 kg rating without exposing any bracket or screw on the show face. The main cabinet rides on the same Z-cleat system as the rest of our wall-mount range, but we double it on this build because of the hardware and shelf content — twin cleats share the vertical load. Two level-adjust threaded feet at the base lip fine-tune the mandir on uneven walls.
Material and finish
Built only in DuPont-grade Corian, in any of 40-plus sheet colours. Doors and shelves receive the same hand-polish treatment for a consistent sheen across the assembly. Finish options: high-gloss, satin-matte, or dual-tone (matte shelves with a gloss door for contrast). Corian is lighter than marble, won't warp like wood, and resists kitchen vapours that would discolour laminate panels over time.
Size specifications
Full-assembly sizes cover the outer footprint (door cabinet plus surrounding shelves). Compact 30 inch W x 12 inch D x 36 inch H. Apartment 36 inch W x 14 inch D x 42 inch H. Standard 42 inch W x 16 inch D x 48 inch H — most-ordered size. Large 48 inch W x 18 inch D x 54 inch H. Premium 60 inch W x 18 inch D x 60 inch H. Door-cabinet internal clear height is 18 to 30 inches depending on size. Shelf spacing is set at render stage. Corian thickness 12 mm standard, 19 mm premium.

Where this mandir works
2-BHK or 3-BHK apartment pooja corner: the standard 42 inch combines a protected door altar with above-shelves for framed deity photos. Kitchen-adjacent wall: the soft-close door keeps vapour and dust off the primary idol, which matters in Indian homes where the kitchen opens to the living area. Villa family shrine: the large 48 inch or premium 60 inch with stepped shelves gives room for a primary deity plus three to five secondary idols. Overseas condo: the compact 30 inch door-plus-two-shelf version ships flat-pack and wall-mounts cleanly on standard drywall. Rental apartment: because the wall-mount can be lifted off the cleat and re-hung elsewhere, this piece is rental-friendly.

Why Satguru Creations
We are the factory — not a trader, not a reseller. Founded 1975 as Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer, now run by the third generation of the founding family. 10,000-plus Corian mandirs delivered, 4.8 out of 5 rating from 291 verified reviews, 200-plus combined artisan-years, DuPont-grade Corian only, lifetime consultation guarantee. Delivered to 28 Indian states plus 18 US states, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Team expertise
Six senior artisans hand-finish every Corian body (15 to 30 years on acrylic solid surface each). Hinge and soft-close hardware is calibrated by our production engineer. Wall-cleat engineering is signed off by the lead fabricator. In-house Vastu-trained architects set the altar height and shelf proportions. Nothing is outsourced — that is why the door still soft-closes cleanly a decade later.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Are the hinges soft-close and concealed?
Yes. The door runs on concealed soft-close hinges with no visible hinge pin. The door self-latches quietly via magnetic catches — no slam, no handle pull-force required.
Q: How much weight can each floating shelf hold?
Each 19 mm Corian shelf carries a concealed steel flat-bar and is rated 15 kg. That comfortably takes a framed photo, a brass idol and a diya tray together.
Q: Can I add more shelves later?
Yes. We stock matching Corian shelves in the 40-plus sheet range and can fabricate one later to match your colour and finish. The French-cleat anchors into the wall separately from the main mandir cleat.
Q: Will the door protect the idols from kitchen vapour?
The magnetic soft-close door makes the cabinet effectively dust-sealed in normal Indian homes. For open-kitchen layouts we recommend the jali-fretwork door variant for airflow or the full-seal hinged door with a lip gasket.
Q: Is the wall-mount strong enough with the extra door and shelves?
Yes. We ship a twin-cleat system on this build — two steel Z-cleats sharing the vertical load. Combined rating is well above 80 kg static, versus a typical total fitted weight of 30 to 40 kg.
Q: Can this ship flat-pack to the USA?
Yes. The door cabinet and shelves ship as numbered parts with diagrammed assembly. Hinges arrive pre-calibrated and the magnetic catches are pre-set. Overseas assembly typically completes in 2 to 3 hours.
