White Handleless Acrylic Mandir for Home
This white acrylic mandir is built around one visual idea: no visible hardware anywhere on the front. The doors are handleless — they open with a gentle push on a concealed spring catch — so the face of the altar reads as a single clean panel of glossy white acrylic, top to bottom. For minimalist apartments and contemporary interiors where even a brass knob feels loud, this is the pooja unit that disappears into the wall until you light the diya. Manufactured by Satguru Creations in Mumbai — a family factory running since 1975, with 10,000+ mandirs delivered across India, USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Design theme and style fit
This handleless white piece is designed for four interior vocabularies: (1) minimalist modern apartment — gloss white acrylic flush against a neutral wall, zero visual noise; (2) Scandinavian-Indian fusion — light palette, pale timber floor, the mandir reads as furniture; (3) contemporary Indian — pure white body paired with a small brass deity accent inside the altar niche; (4) designer studio / 1-BHK — because nothing protrudes from the face, the unit suits the kind of open-plan flat where the pooja space shares a wall with living or dining. No jaali, no ornament — the quiet is the design.
Craftsmanship — the handleless door mechanism
A handleless door is only as good as its catch. Each door on this mandir uses a concealed magnetic push-to-open catch rated for tens of thousands of cycles, paired with a concealed soft-close hinge so the door never slams shut on a breezy evening. The door edge is CNC-chamfered at 45 degrees so the finger-pad lands naturally when you push, and the acrylic face is seamed to the plywood carcass with a continuous edge-band that hides the substrate completely. Every door is dry-fitted and checked for flush alignment at our Mumbai factory before final assembly — a handleless door that sits even 1 mm proud spoils the whole face, so we reject and refit rather than ship.
Material and finish
The face is UV-stable cast acrylic sheet in gloss glacier white — the grade specifically chosen for long-term clarity and resistance to yellowing under diya warmth. The carcass is 18 mm BWP plywood, fully sealed and edge-banded so no raw ply ever meets the eye. Against marble, this piece is roughly half the weight for the same footprint. Against solid wood, it will not warp in Mumbai humidity. Against cheap PVC-acrylic sheet — the kind you see clouding in low-cost units after a year — cast acrylic holds its mirror gloss across the full service life of the mandir. On our Corian line we use DuPont-grade solid surface; this acrylic sibling is the lighter, more accessible version of the same craft standard.

Space suitability
Compact 1-BHK / studio apartment: the 24" compact size wall-mounted adds a pooja function without consuming floor space — handleless geometry makes the mandir almost invisible against a painted wall. Apartment pooja room: the standard 36" size is the most-ordered spec for 2-BHKs in Mumbai and the metros. Living-room feature wall: the large 48" size with an internal mirror-finish deity panel doubles as a decorative feature when closed. Export USA / UK condos: the minimal handleless look travels well into Western interiors that do not read ornate traditional carving comfortably. Designer villa: the premium 60" with dual-tone plinth becomes the quiet anchor of a dedicated shrine room.

Why Satguru Creations
Running since 1975, Satguru Creations is Mumbai's first Corian mandir maker. The acrylic line sits beside the Corian line in the same workshop with the same senior artisans and the same design consult process — we simply work in a lighter material when the client's brief calls for it. 10,000+ mandirs delivered, average rating 4.8/5 from 291 verified reviews, lifetime consultation on every unit, export to 4 continents. We are the factory, not a reseller stamping a brand on imported flatpacks.
Expertise — the team behind the piece
Handleless joinery is where acrylic is toughest — any misalignment shows instantly. Our design is led by in-house architects trained in Vastu-compliant proportion; CNC programming is in-house; door-catch tuning and final hand-polish are done by six senior artisans with 15–30 years on acrylic and Corian. That experience is the reason a Satguru handleless face sits flush and stays flush — no soft-opening doors, no lifted edges, no fingerprints trapped under a badly-bonded skin.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How do the handleless doors open without handles?
Each door uses a concealed magnetic push-to-open catch. A gentle push anywhere along the door face releases the catch; the soft-close hinge eases it open. It is the same mechanism used on high-end modular kitchens.
Q: Is acrylic different from Corian?
Yes — we positions both honestly. Corian is DuPont-grade solid surface, heavier and seamless. This unit is high-grade cast acrylic on a sealed plywood core, lighter and more accessible. Same workshop, same artisans, different material.
Q: Will the white acrylic yellow with age?
No. We use UV-stable cast acrylic graded specifically for non-yellowing. Low-cost PVC-acrylic sheet goes cloudy within 18 months, but this cast grade holds its clarity and gloss for years.
Q: Will fingerprints show on a handleless gloss face?
Less than you expect. The face is gloss-sealed cast acrylic which wipes clean with a soft microfibre cloth and a drop of mild soap. A satin-matte finish is available if you prefer a finger-print-resistant surface.
Q: Can this mandir be wall-mounted?
Yes. Sizes up to 48" can be wall-mounted on a concealed cleat system, giving the unit a floating appearance. Floor-standing with a 4" plinth is the default.
Q: Does the handleless catch wear out?
The magnetic push-to-open catches are rated for tens of thousands of cycles and are field-replaceable as a small cartridge. In the rare event of wear, we ship a replacement under the lifetime consultation guarantee.
