Wall-Mount Corian Mandir with Pocket Door and Floating Shelves
This is the most complete floating wall-mount design in our catalogue — a primary altar protected by a slide-away pocket door, flanked by floating shelves for secondary idols, framed deity photos or a diya tray. The door slides cleanly into a side cavity so it disappears during aarti, leaving nothing between the worshipper and the idol. The shelves hang on concealed French cleats so no bracket is visible. The entire assembly clears the floor, rides on a twin steel cleat system, and reads as a clean Corian composition on the wall. Manufactured in our Mumbai factory by Satguru Creations, continuously building Corian mandirs since 1975.
Interior fits
Four style settings work cleanly: designer 3-BHK apartment — Glacier White pocket door with plain face, two asymmetric floating shelves in matching white, push-to-open handle; contemporary villa — warm ivory with a carved kalash band on the pocket door and three stepped shelves; heritage Indian home — peacock-motif door in pearl Corian with dual-tone gloss-on-matte shelves; overseas family condo — slim 36 inch pocket door with mirror-finish deity backdrop revealed when door pockets, flanked by two Glacier shelves. The design is deliberately dense — primary altar plus shelf storage plus slide-away door — which is why sizes run wider than basic wall-mounts.
Pocket door and shelf craftsmanship
Two hardware systems share one wall-mount body. The door rides on a ball-bearing sliding track concealed in the top rail (25,000-cycle rated) with a wool-felt brush seal keeping dust out of the pocket cavity. Each floating shelf is 19 mm DuPont-grade Corian with a hand-bonded concealed steel flat-bar that exits as a tongue into a wall-side French cleat. Because the assembly carries both a sliding door (asymmetric load) and multiple shelves (vertical load), we deploy a twin-cleat system: one heavier Z-cleat on the pocket-cavity side, a second balanced Z-cleat on the opposite side, plus independent French cleats for the shelves. Combined load capacity is engineered well above total fitted weight. Every door is cycled 100 times pre-despatch, and every shelf pull-tested to 15 kg before crating.
Material
DuPont-grade Corian across door, body and shelves. Consistent hand-polish sheen across every visible face so the door, when closed, reads as part of the mandir body without a break. Forty-plus sheet colours; finishes high-gloss, satin-matte, or dual-tone. The material stays dimensionally stable, which matters on a pocket-door build where tolerances must remain accurate for the door to slide silently for decades.
Size specifications
Assembly widths include pocket cavity plus shelves. Apartment 42 inch W x 14 inch D x 42 inch H. Standard 48 inch W x 16 inch D x 48 inch H — most-ordered. Large 54 inch W x 16 inch D x 54 inch H. Premium 60 inch W x 18 inch D x 60 inch H. Villa 72 inch W x 18 inch D x 66 inch H — widest floating pocket-door design we offer. Primary altar opening (visible when door pockets) is roughly 40 to 50 percent of overall width, with the remainder split between pocket cavity and shelf zones. Corian thickness 19 mm across all structural elements.
Customisation
- Door motif: plain, carved kalash, swastik, om embossing, printed family deity or jali fretwork.
- Pocket direction: left or right (locked at render stage).
- Shelf layout: two asymmetric, three stepped, or custom grid.
- Corian colour: 40-plus DuPont-grade codes.
- Finish: high-gloss, satin-matte, or dual-tone.
- Soft-close: optional soft-close damper on the pocket track.
- Lighting: auto-sensing warm-white LED that turns on when the door pockets; optional halo under each shelf.
Where this complete design works
3-BHK designer apartment: the standard 48 inch gives a protected primary altar plus two shelves for framed family-deity photos and a diya tray. Villa family shrine: the premium 60 inch or villa 72 inch — the entire pooja corner centres on one floating assembly. Passageway or gallery wall: the pocket door is essential here because a hinged door would block corridor traffic. Kitchen-adjacent open-plan: the pocket door seals the primary deity off from vapour while the open shelves carry dust-tolerant items (framed photos, closed vessels). Overseas family condo: the apartment 42 inch ships flat-pack and mounts cleanly on standard drywall with the supplied anchor kit.
Our process
- Consult on WhatsApp (+91 83693 35359) — share wall photos, idol inventory, framed-photo dimensions and preferred pocket direction.
- 3D render in 48 hours showing door closed, door pocketed, and shelf loadout.
- Quote — all-in fixed price covering Corian, ball-bearing track, soft-close damper if selected, twin cleats, shelf French cleats, delivery and install.
- Manufacture: CNC, hand-carve motif if any, track fit, shelf steel bonding, 100-cycle door test, 15 kg shelf pull-test. Lead time 16 to 22 working days.
- QC — 32-point inspection across all hardware zones.
- Despatch — crated, corner-padded. Pan-India 3 to 7 days; export 14 to 25 days sea or 5 to 8 days air.
- Install — white-glove in India; numbered flat-pack plus extended WhatsApp video walkthrough for export (this build takes slightly longer to assemble than a door-only unit).
Why Satguru Creations
Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer — founded 1975, now third-generation. 10,000-plus Corian mandirs delivered, 4.8 out of 5 from 291 verified reviews. A build this complex needs everything in-house: CNC, hand-carving, track calibration, hand-polish, bracket engineering. We do all of it under one roof. DuPont-grade Corian only, lifetime consultation guarantee, deliveries to 28 Indian states plus 18 US states, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Team expertise
This is our most hardware-dense wall-mount, so it is built by our senior team only. Our production engineer personally calibrates each ball-bearing track. Six senior artisans (15 to 30 years each on Corian) hand-polish door, body and shelves to matching sheen. The lead fabricator signs off twin-cleat engineering for every unit. Vastu-trained architects set altar height and shelf spacing. Nothing is outsourced, which is why doors on Satguru pocket-door mandirs still slide silently a decade after despatch.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Can the pocket door and shelves share the same wall-mount cleat?
The cabinet body rides on the twin Z-cleat system. Each floating shelf has its own independent French cleat directly into the wall. This separation means shelf load doesn't transfer to the door track and the door runs silently regardless of shelf contents.
Q: How heavy can the primary altar zone hold?
The altar floor inside the pocket-door cabinet is 19 mm Corian over a concealed steel support rated 20 kg. That comfortably takes a large brass idol plus diya tray plus pooja essentials.
Q: Will the door still slide if the mandir is fully loaded with idols?
Yes. The door track is isolated from the altar floor — idol weight does not load the track. We cycle-test every unit with a full-weight dummy idol pre-despatch to confirm.
Q: Can I add shelves later to this build?
Yes. Additional Corian shelves match the original colour and finish from our stock. Each new shelf uses its own French cleat anchored independently into the wall — the main mandir never comes off its cleat for a shelf addition.
Q: Is the wall-mount rated high enough for this much hardware?
Yes. The twin Z-cleat system is load-tested to 50 kg per cleat (100 kg combined). Plus each shelf French cleat is rated 15 kg. Total wall-capacity far exceeds fitted weight of door, body, shelves and content.
Q: Does the full assembly ship flat-pack for export?
Yes. Pocket-door cabinet, shelves, track, cleats and anchor kits ship in numbered parts. Overseas assembly typically takes 3 to 4 hours with our WhatsApp video walkthrough — longer than a basic wall-mount because of the hardware count.
