Corian Temple for Home with Signature Center Om

This beautiful Corian temple is built around a single visual anchor: a large, hand-carved center Om floating against the backdrop, framed by a subtle halo ring. It is the piece for households where the Om is the deity-agnostic spiritual symbol of the home — multi-generational families with multiple traditions under one roof, or families who keep the altar intentionally abstract. The Om is carved 10–14 mm deep into solid Corian; under warm backlight the character genuinely reads as floating. Hand-crafted by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ delivered across India and to USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

Design theme — which homes suit center-Om

Four interior contexts pair with the center-Om design: (1) multi-faith Indian family home — the Om reads inclusive across most Dharmic traditions, pearl-white Corian, soft halo; (2) contemporary 3-BHK designer apartment — warm-cream Corian, gloss Om floated against matte backdrop for dramatic contrast; (3) villa dedicated shrine — ivory Corian, oversized 3D Om with deeper relief, warm backlight, gopuram crown; (4) NRI family home in USA or UK — Glacier White Corian, clean center-Om silhouette that reads as distinctly Indian to non-Indian visitors without being overtly denominational. Carving is always hand-finished after CNC rough-out.

Craftsmanship — the deep center-Om carving

The deep carved Om is where this piece either reads beautifully or reads badly. Three details separate our build: (a) carving depth at 10–14 mm in 19mm Corian — deep enough for genuine 3D shadow play under side light, without approaching the rear face of the panel; (b) hand-chisel finish along every Om curve — the Om character has specific devanagari calligraphy requirements and a clumsy CNC-only finish reads generic, so our senior artisans hand-refine every curve; (c) optional concealed halo LED ring in the backdrop plane so the Om glows from behind the character at night. Backdrop panel thermal-bonded to base plinth; no visible seam.

Material & finish

We build every Om-backdrop mandir in DuPont-grade Corian. The material matters specifically for deep carving — cheap PVC-acrylic copies yellow inside the carved depths over years (dust catches, UV hits different), leaving a visible two-tone effect on what should be a unified character. DuPont Corian holds colour through the full thickness, so a 14mm deep Om reads identical to the surrounding panel for decades. 40+ colours in stock; pearl, ivory, warm cream, Glacier White are the top choices for the Om archetype. Finish: gloss (traditional favourite), matte, or gloss-Om + matte-body dual-tone.

Size specifications

Five standard sizes. Compact 30" W × 22" D × 54" H — apartment alcove. Standard 42" W × 26" D × 66" H — the Om archetype's most-ordered 2-BHK / 3-BHK size. Large 54" W × 30" D × 78" H — dedicated pooja room where the Om reads as the visual focal point. Premium 66" W × 36" D × 88" H — villa shrine. Temple-hall 78"+ — community hall. Corian thickness: 19mm on the backdrop panel (mandatory for deep carving), 12mm or 19mm on body. Om character sized 10–24 inches tall scaled to mandir size.

Customisation

  • Corian colour: 40+ DuPont options.
  • Om size: 10, 14, 18, 22, or 24 inches tall; or fully custom-sized to your render preference.
  • Om style: classical devanagari Om (default), stylised modern Om, or script-form with halo frame.
  • Backdrop finish: matte, gloss, or dual-tone.
  • Pillar: included on standard-and-above sizes; optional on compact.
  • Lighting: concealed halo LED behind the Om (default warm-white 3000 K), dimmer, or RGB festival upgrade.
  • Base storage: drawer, cabinet, or ghee-lamp tray.

Space suitability

Mumbai 3-BHK dedicated pooja room: standard 42″ is the Om archetype's mainstream configuration. Designer apartment living-wall shrine: standard or large with dual-tone gloss-Om treatment; the Om reads as the statement element of the living wall. Villa dedicated shrine: premium 66″ with oversized 22–24 inch Om and halo backlight. Multi-faith household: compact or standard — the Om suits households with mixed Hindu-Sikh-Jain-Buddhist traditions under one roof. NRI family home: ships crated; remote assembly in 2–3 hours. The Om archetype is one of our most-exported designs.

Our production engineer programs the CNC with a tested Om template library we have refined across hundreds of pieces.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How deep is the 3D Om carving?
Standard is 10 mm into 19mm Corian; premium is 14 mm. We do not go deeper than 14 mm because the carving approaches the rear face of the panel and loses structural rigidity behind the Om character.

Q: Will the Om character read clearly under low pooja-lamp light alone?
Yes. At 10–14 mm carving depth, the Om reads in full 3D even under a single diya. For stronger presence at night, the optional concealed halo backlight brings out the character dramatically.

Q: Can we scale the Om to match our existing pooja room artwork?
Yes. Share your reference and we scale the carved Om to match. Compact mandirs typically carry a 10-inch Om; villa shrines carry up to 24 inches. The Om is the anchor element and its size is the most customised dimension on this archetype.

Q: Is the halo LED visible when off?
No. The LED sits in a 3 mm concealed channel behind the backdrop plane, invisible from any viewing angle. When off, the piece reads as a fully solid Corian backdrop with the carved Om; only the glow appears when switched on.

Q: Can this design work for a Sikh household who want Ik Onkar instead?
Yes. Ik Onkar is a natural substitution for the Om in the same carving style and halo treatment. We have delivered Ik Onkar mandirs to Sikh households across Punjab, Haryana, Mumbai, and to Sikh diaspora customers in Canada and the UK.

Q: Will deep 3D carving weaken the Corian panel over time?
No. At 10–14 mm into 19mm Corian, panel strength remains high. We have Om-backdrop mandirs in Mumbai homes running 20+ years with zero structural issue on the carved panel.
