Classic Corian Home Temple with Warm-Cream Finish

Some homes call for a mandir that announces itself; others call for a mandir that simply belongs. This Corian home temple is built for the second kind of home. The warm-cream finish reads as aged ivory rather than stark white, the silhouette crowns in a gentle traditional dome, and the body carries quiet carved detailing on the side panels rather than loud 3D relief. The effect is a piece that looks like it has always been in the family — even on day one. Designed and built by Satguru Creations — Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, 10,000+ mandirs delivered across India and exported to USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe.

Design theme and style fit

The warm-cream domed home temple suits (1) traditional Marwari and Gujarati family homes where the mandir is the emotional centre of a shared household; (2) heritage bungalows in South Mumbai, Bandra, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai with classical interiors; (3) designer villa pooja rooms where the owner has chosen antique wood furniture and a warm stone floor; (4) classic-contemporary apartments with cream walls and wooden flooring; and (5) NRI homes in USA, UK and Canada where the owners want the home temple to carry a clear traditional read rather than a minimalist modern one.

Craftsmanship that separates this design

The dome is the hardest part of this mandir. Our CNC routes the dome curve in a single pass, after which the in-house carvers hand-smooth the dome transition to the side walls so there is no stepped shoulder. The side-panel carving is 6 to 9 mm deep relief in kalash-and-lotus motif, hand-finished after machine routing. Every seam is a DuPont thermal-bonded Corian joint, polished invisible. The base plinth has a concealed Corian spreader for reinforcement. Before despatch, the piece clears our 32-point QC check — dome symmetry, carving depth uniformity, seam integrity, polish uniformity, and a full load test on the deity platform.

Material and finish

DuPont-grade Corian — acrylic solid surface, non-porous, food-safe, UV-stable. Unlike marble, Corian does not chip on impact and ships at roughly half the weight. Unlike wood, it does not warp under humidity. Unlike cheap PVC-acrylic sheet, it does not yellow after two monsoons. Over 40 DuPont colour codes available — Warm Cream (shown), Warm Ivory, Designer White, Glacier White, Pearl Gray, Canvas and stone-effect options. Warm cream is our signature colour for classic home temples because it reads warmer than ivory under evening diya light and photographs well against wood floors.

Size specifications

Five standard sizes ship; every dimension customisable. Compact 24" W × 18" D × 48" H — apartment pooja corner. Standard 36" W × 24" D × 66" H with a 6-inch dome rise — most-ordered classic size for 10 × 12 ft pooja rooms. Large 48" W × 30" D × 78" H — dedicated pooja room. Premium 60" W × 36" D × 90" H with a taller dome — villa shrine wall. Temple-hall 72" W × 42" D × 102" H+ — housing-society temple or community hall. Corian thickness 12 mm standard / 19 mm premium. Every dimension custom-tunable.

Customisation — what you can change

  • Corian colour: Warm Cream (shown), Warm Ivory, Designer White, Glacier White or any DuPont sheet code.
  • Dome profile: gentle traditional dome (shown), taller gopuram-inspired peak, or flat-top with arched-top interior.
  • Side-panel carving: kalash-and-lotus (shown), peacock-and-kalash, plain, or custom family-deity panel.
  • Door type: open altar, half-height sliding, full sliding, or hinged door with jali fretwork.
  • Storage: base drawer for pooja thali, concealed agarbatti compartment, or cabinet for festive articles.
  • Deity panel: plain, engraved Om, printed family deity, or mirror-finish backplate.
  • Finish: high-gloss warm cream, satin matte, or dual-tone (gloss body + matte dome).

Space suitability

Heritage bungalow pooja room: the large 48″ domed version with full kalash-and-lotus side carving suits a classical interior with antique wood furniture. Apartment pooja room: the standard 36″ with warm-cream finish sits against a pooja-room east wall, leaving floor room for seated aarti. Villa shrine: the premium 60″ with a taller dome, printed family deity panel and a base drawer. 3-BHK Mumbai flat: the compact 24″ tucks into a pooja alcove without eating dining-room space. NRI UK or USA home: the standard 36″ flat-packs well and recreates the emotional read of a grandparents' home mandir.

The process — factory to install

Why Satguru Creations

Since 1975, Satguru Creations has designed and built Corian mandirs under one Mumbai roof — CNC, hand-carving, hand-polishing, dome shaping — nothing outsourced. 10,000+ mandirs delivered across 28 Indian states and 18 US states. 4.8/5 average from 291 verified customers. Authentic DuPont-grade Corian only; the real thing, not cheap PVC-acrylic. Lifetime consultation guarantee. Three-generation family business. Six senior artisans, each 15 to 30 years on Corian. We are the factory.

Expertise behind this mandir

Dome work is where mass-produced mandirs look cheap. A poorly shaped dome reads as a flat-top with a glued hat; a well-shaped dome reads as continuous with the body. Our CNC programmer writes a custom dome path per size, and our six senior carvers hand-smooth every dome-to-wall transition. In-house architects trained in Vastu-compliant proportion set the dome-to-body height ratio per the scripture-based 1:3 rule. Licensed electrician vetting is included if you choose to add a concealed backlit deity panel.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does the dome make the mandir too tall for my 9-ft ceiling apartment?
No. The standard 36″ size stands at 66″ total height including a 6″ dome, leaving roughly 40″ ceiling clearance in a typical 9-ft apartment. Smaller domes or flat-top versions are available if you want maximum clearance.

Q: Is the side-panel carving really hand-done or just machine-routed?
Both. The initial relief is CNC-routed to 6 to 9 mm depth; the kalash-and-lotus detail is then hand-finished by our senior carvers, which is why the motifs have a soft handmade read rather than a uniform machine finish.

Q: Will the warm-cream finish match my wooden floor and beige walls?
Warm cream is specifically chosen to sit between ivory and beige so it reads warm against cream and beige walls and complements wood floors from teak to walnut. We send a physical DuPont swatch on request before you confirm.

Q: Can the dome design be combined with sliding doors?
Yes. The dome crown sits above the main body; sliding or pocket doors run in the body section. We build the two elements independently and join them in the factory before QC.

Q: Does Corian crack if the mandir is bumped during a house move?
No. Corian is an acrylic solid surface with impact tolerance significantly above marble. Minor knocks do not chip it. Deeper scratches (from dropping a metal tool) can be buffed out with a 3M pad — we share a maintenance video.

Q: How long does it take to export this to Atlanta or Toronto?
Manufacturing 12 to 18 working days, plus 14 to 25 days sea or 5 to 8 days air freight. Most Atlanta and Toronto customers receive their home temple within 5 to 7 weeks of final approval.
