Traditional Corian Mandir for Home: Om Lotus Arch

Traditional Corian Mandir with 3D Om Lotus Arch

A traditional Corian mandir built for families who want a full-size home temple that can actually carry weight. This piece is engineered for the customer with tall, heavy brass or marble idols: the base plinth is reinforced to bear idol loads up to 100 kg, and the signature 3D Om sitting inside a hand-carved lotus arch floats directly above the deity head to deliver the aarti halo a traditional family pooja demands. Built by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ units delivered across India and to export markets on four continents.

Design theme: where this mandir fits

The traditional lotus-arch silhouette pairs with four interior styles: (1) Marwari-Gujarati heritage home: warm ivory Corian, cream-gold arch, carved lotus petals, brass bell-hooks; (2) contemporary Indian villa: pearl-white Corian with a single gloss-gold 3D Om at the arch crown; (3) traditional South Indian home: gopuram-inspired stepped top with lotus medallion, ghee-lamp platform extended forward; (4) NRI family home in USA/UK/Canada: same traditional silhouette in Glacier White so it sits cleanly against modern drywall. The 3D lotus arch is carved 8–12 mm deep into solid Corian, not stuck-on moulding.

Craftsmanship: the lotus arch and idol base

Two details separate this traditional piece from commodity copies. First, the lotus arch is hand-carved from a single 19mm Corian sheet: petal by petal, not routed-then-stuck. Our senior artisans chisel each petal edge to a soft-fold profile so the light picks up every layer during aarti. Second, the idol base platform is reinforced with a 19mm Corian sub-deck and an internal stainless-steel spine, so a pair of 2-foot brass Laxmi-Ganesh idols (often 60–80 kg combined) sit level without any long-term sag. The mandir is thermally bonded at every seam; no visible joint line, no crack propagation after years of heavy-idol duty.

Material & finish

Built exclusively in DuPont-grade Corian: an acrylic solid surface identical to premium kitchen counters. Zero warping in Mumbai humidity, zero yellowing from the sun falling on a pooja window, zero cracking when a heavy lamp or bell is placed on the base. Forty-plus Corian colours available, from cream-ivory traditional to stark Glacier White modern. Finish options: high-gloss mirror polish for that classic temple shine, or satin matte for families who want a quieter, more devotional feel. The lotus petals are typically finished in gloss while the body stays matte for contrast.

Size specifications

Five standard sizes; every dimension customisable. Compact 30" W × 20" D × 48" H: suits 2-BHK pooja rooms. Standard 42" W × 26" D × 66" H: the most-ordered traditional size for 3-BHK homes. Large 54" W × 30" D × 78" H: dedicated pooja hall. Premium 66" W × 36" D × 90" H: family villa. Temple-hall 78"+: community or housing-society shrine. Corian thickness: 12mm standard, 19mm premium (recommended for this archetype given the heavy-idol load). Base-platform depth extensible to 36" for full seated aarti.

Customisation

• Corian colour: ivory, cream, pearl-white, Glacier, Canvas, or custom DuPont code.
• Arch profile: single lotus-Om, twin-lotus with kalash finials, gopuram stepped, or flat traditional.
• Deity panel: plain, family-deity printed insert, gold-leaf Om medallion, or mirror-finish reflective panel.
• Base storage: integrated drawer for pooja thali, cabinet for festive items, or ghee-lamp tray.
• Finish: full gloss, full matte, or gloss arch + matte body dual-tone.
• Bell hooks: brass cup hooks on under-arch for ritual bells; optional.
• Lighting: optional warm-white halo behind the lotus arch for soft aarti glow (3000 K).

Space suitability

Dedicated pooja room in a 3-BHK: the standard 42″ traditional fits a 10×10 ft pooja room beautifully. Living room feature wall in a joint-family home: large 54″ size with full lotus-kalash arch reads as the home's spiritual centre. Villa shrine hall: premium 66″ + 36″ deep platform supports daily seated aarti for the full family. Housing-society temple: temple-hall 78″+ with reinforced base carries community idols, GST invoice supplied. Export NRI traditional family home: standard 42″ crated and shipped; remote-assembled in 2–3 hours with our WhatsApp video support.

Why Satguru Creations

We designed and delivered Mumbai's first Corian mandir in 1975, and we still run the same factory. 10,000+ mandirs delivered, 4.8/5 average from 291 verified buyers. Our lotus-arch design is now the reference standard copied across the industry, and our in-house hand-carved version still reads differently from any CNC-only competitor. Every unit carries our lifetime consultation guarantee. Delivered to 18 US states, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, and across 28 Indian states.

Expertise

Three generations of the founder family run the workshop today. Lotus-arch carving specifically is led by two senior artisans each with 25+ years on Corian; we do not allow juniors near the arch petals. CNC programming is in-house. The structural spine of the heavy-idol base is designed by a licensed civil-structural consultant we retain. Vastu-compliant proportions are set by our in-house architect. That is why a Satguru traditional mandir carries 100 kg idols for 40 years.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can this mandir carry a 3-foot brass Laxmi-Ganesh pair?
Yes. In 19mm construction with the reinforced base, the idol platform rates up to 100 kg sustained load. We add a steel spine if your idols exceed that.

Q: Is the 3D Om lotus arch carved or stuck-on?
Hand-carved from a single 19mm Corian sheet. Carving depth is 8–12 mm. There is no adhesive join line: the arch is one piece.

Q: What size fits a dedicated 10 by 10 foot pooja room?
The standard 42 inch traditional size is our most-ordered fit for a 10 by 10 pooja room. Leaves walk-around space and keeps idol eye-level correct for seated aarti.

Q: Does the traditional carving increase lead time?
Yes, traditional lotus-arch work adds 4–5 working days versus a plain design. Total lead time 14–20 working days depending on arch complexity.

Q: Can we add brass bell hooks under the arch?
Yes. We embed solid-brass cup hooks under the arch at the customer's preferred bell spacing, threaded into Corian reinforcement inserts.

Q: Will the cream-ivory finish yellow after years?
No. DuPont-grade Corian is UV-stable and does not yellow. We have traditional ivory mandirs in Mumbai homes running 25+ years with no colour shift.
