Corian Temple with Storage
The Corian temple with storage is what families ask for once they realise the altar shelf isn't going to absorb a decade's worth of festival saman. This piece keeps the temple proper at upper-platform height — deity, diya, aarti tray — and tucks the working storage (saman drawer, festival cabinet, agarbatti compartment) into a single seamless plinth below. The visual reads as one Corian sculpture, not as a temple awkwardly perched on a chest of drawers. Designed and produced by Satguru Creations, the Mumbai factory that has been making Corian mandirs since 1975 and has shipped 10,000+ units across India and to families overseas.
Design theme — the interiors it complements
This temple-on-storage layout settles into four very different interiors: (1) designer villa pooja room — ivory body, fluted pillar profile, full-width platform with a recessed handle line; (2) contemporary Indian apartment — pearl-white plinth, central drawer flanked by two cabinets, kalash finial on the canopy; (3) heritage Marwari haveli — warm-cream Corian, hand-carved arch, brass-tone push handles on the storage row; (4) commercial / housing-society temple — matte-white wipe-clean body, lockable cabinet for the trust's silver, GST invoice supplied. We vary the storage band (drawer-on-top, cabinet-below, or alternating) to match the proportion of each interior, instead of forcing one fixed layout on every order.
Craftsmanship — the hardware that makes a storage temple last
A storage mandir's longevity is decided in its drawer mechanism, not in its visible carving. Every drawer here runs on full-extension ball-bearing runners rated for daily use; the closing action is damped with a built-in soft-close cartridge so the drawer settles silently even with a metal aarti thaali inside. Cabinet doors close onto concealed magnetic catches with a soft pull, paired with a fully concealed Euro-style hinge that opens 105 degrees. A flexible gasket strip seals the drawer top edge, blocking incense smoke and kumkum dust from settling on the runners. Internal drawer faces are lined with a scratch-resistant matte panel, protecting silver vessels. Each cabinet has an adjustable shelf that lifts out for cleaning. CNC cut and hand-polished at our Mumbai workshop.
Material & finish
The body is DuPont-grade Corian acrylic solid surface, joined with a chemical seam that is invisible after polishing. This is the same material used in laboratory benches and luxury kitchen counters — it doesn't yellow, doesn't chip and doesn't host bacteria. Available in 40+ stocked DuPont colour codes, with high-gloss, satin or matte finish. Versus marble: roughly one-fifth the weight, no etching from kumkum or oil. Versus engineered wood: zero swelling in monsoon humidity. Versus cheap PVC-acrylic that some online sellers pass off as Corian: no yellowing, no peel-back at edges, no smell.

Why Satguru Creations
1975-founded factory, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer and still the longest-running. 10,000+ delivered, 4.8/5 across 291 verified reviews. We make every component in-house: nothing is outsourced, no part of the build is hidden behind a reseller. We use only authentic DuPont-grade Corian — not the PVC-acrylic that yellows. Hardware is selected to architectural specification and field-replaceable. Every order carries our lifetime consultation guarantee: if anything fails, we fix it. Pan-India delivery and export to four continents.
Expertise
Three generations of the founding family run the factory. Drawer-box engineering is led by a senior carpenter with 22 years on Corian-clad casework; Vastu-trained architects vet platform proportions before any deity panel goes to CNC. The 50-cycle drawer test is signed off by our QC head and electrical safety on optional LED is checked by a licensed electrician. That layered review is why a storage temple from us still operates after a decade of daily aartis.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How many drawers can the storage temple have?
The build supports one to three drawers; the standard 42 inch size carries two drawers and a double-door cabinet, but every layout is configurable.
Q: Is the cabinet door lockable?
Yes. A discreet cam-lock with key or a push-to-open child-safe latch is available. Housing-society temple orders most often specify the cam-lock for trust silverware.
Q: What kind of items will fit inside the drawers?
The top drawer holds daily saman: matchbox, agarbatti, kumkum, oil bottles. The cabinet below holds bigger festival items, silver thaali, deity vastra and folded jyot stands.
Q: Are the drawer hinges and runners genuinely soft-close?
Yes. Drawers ride on full-extension ball-bearing runners with soft-close damping; cabinet doors use concealed magnetic catches. The hardware is field-replaceable.
Q: Will the drawers swell in monsoon humidity?
No. Drawer boxes and visible Corian are non-porous solid surface and dimensionally stable across all Indian climates and overseas conditions.
Q: Can a storage temple ship overseas safely?
Yes. The temple ships flat-pack with foam-immobilised drawers and a numbered parts list. We supply video assembly instructions and remote WhatsApp support for USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
