Jain Corian Temple for Home — Round Pillar Design

A Jain Corian temple designed for the daily ritual requirements of a Jain household: a clean, minimalist silhouette, compact altar proportions sized for tirthankar idols (not the larger Hindu deity format), a platform at the correct upaashray seated-puja height, and flanking tapered round pillars that echo the derasar-pillar vocabulary without cluttering a small apartment pooja space. The signature build is 24" W × 27" D × 14" H (2 ft x 2.25 ft x 1.17 ft) — a compact floor or niche unit, scalable up to villa-shrine sizes. Manufactured by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ delivered across India and export markets.

Design theme — interiors for a Jain home

This compact round-pillar piece suits four Jain-household contexts specifically: (1) traditional Gujarati Jain 2-BHK apartment — pearl-white Corian, matte-finish round pillars, no heavy ornamentation; (2) modern Jain designer flat — Glacier White flat-plinth body with subtle tapered pillars, optional micro-swastik motif; (3) Jain family bungalow private shrine — warm ivory with scaled-up round pillars and a stepped derasar-style crown; (4) NRI Jain family home in USA/UK/Canada/Australia — standard compact design, clean silhouette, ships crated for remote assembly. We intentionally avoid heavy floral carving on this archetype — Jain minimalism is the brief.

Craftsmanship — round pillar and altar precision

Three craftsmanship signatures define the Jain archetype in our workshop. First, the round pillars are thermal-bonded from Corian sheet rolled into a true cylinder, then hand-polished along the seam until no join line is visible — pillars on this archetype are tapered (wider at base, narrower at top), and the taper is set by our senior pillar-roller. Second, the altar platform is sized to tirthankar idol proportions (idol bases typically 4–8 inches, centred, with a carved 2 mm relief ring) — we build the platform to your specific idol dimensions. Third, the base plinth carries a concealed cavity for ritual items (kesar box, flower plate) accessed by a flush push-panel. Every joint thermal-bonded; no visible seam.

Material & finish

We build in DuPont-grade Corian. For Jain households specifically the attraction is practical: Corian is non-porous, so kesar paste, milk-abhishek residue and flower water do not stain or etch the altar surface the way they do with marble or wood. 40+ Corian colours stocked; pearl-white, Glacier White and ivory are the top three choices across our Jain customers. Finish: matte is the traditional Jain preference (less reflective, more contemplative), but gloss and dual-tone are available on request.

Size specifications

Five standard sizes. Signature compact 24" W × 27" D × 14" H — the Dharampur reference size, suits apartment niche or tabletop placement. Standard 36" W × 30" D × 60" H — floor-standing 2-BHK. Large 48" W × 32" D × 72" H — dedicated Jain pooja room. Premium 60" W × 36" D × 84" H — villa shrine. Temple-hall 72"+ — community Jain derasar. Corian thickness 12mm standard, 19mm for pillars on sizes above 48 inches. Altar-platform idol-base ring can be scaled to your specific tirthankar idol dimensions.

Customisation

  • Corian colour: pearl, ivory, Glacier, or 40+ custom DuPont codes.
  • Pillar profile: tapered round (signature), straight cylindrical, fluted round.
  • Altar platform: sized to your tirthankar idol base; single or triple-idol configurations.
  • Crown: flat minimal, gopuram-step, or domed derasar-style.
  • Storage: concealed push-panel compartment for kesar box, flowers, ritual items.
  • Finish: matte (traditional Jain), gloss, or dual-tone.
  • Lighting: optional warm-white halo behind the tirthankar idol; most Jain customers keep it lamp-lit only.

Space suitability

Apartment niche or tabletop: signature compact 24″ sits on a sideboard or inside an alcove. 2-BHK Jain home: standard 36″ floor-standing with compact altar for 1–3 tirthankar idols. Dedicated Jain pooja room in a 3-BHK or bungalow: large 48″ with derasar-style stepped crown. Villa private Jain shrine: premium 60″ with deeper altar for multi-idol display. Community or society Jain upaashray: temple-hall 72″+, reinforced, GST invoice supplied. NRI Jain household export: signature compact ships easily by air freight to USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore.

The process

  1. Consult on WhatsApp (+91 83693 35359). Share photos, tirthankar idol dimensions, space.
  2. 3D render plus Corian swatch in 48 hours; two revisions.
  3. Fixed quote — all-in: Corian + pillar roll + delivery + install (or export freight).
  4. Manufacture — CNC cut, pillar-roll, thermal-bond, hand-polish. Lead time 10–15 working days (compact size faster).
  5. QC — 32-point inspection: pillar seam, altar levelness, platform load test.
  6. Despatch — crated with foam overlay. Pan-India 3–7 days; export 14–25 days sea / 5–8 days air.
  7. Install — pan-India on-site; remote support for export households.

Why Satguru Creations

We have been building Corian mandirs since 1975, and our Jain-community customer base goes back three decades — word-of-mouth across Mumbai Jain society (Walkeshwar, Matunga, Borivali, Ghatkopar, Dharampur) and across the NRI Jain diaspora. 10,000+ mandirs delivered, 4.8/5 from 291 verified buyers. We understand the Jain design brief: minimal ornament, exact idol proportion, non-porous surface for daily kesar and milk rituals. Every unit under lifetime consultation guarantee.

Expertise

Three generations of the founder family. Our senior pillar-roller has rolled Corian cylinders for 30 years — tapered Jain pillars are a signature craft of his hand. In-house architect works to Jain shilpa-shastra proportions when the customer requests formal compliance. CNC engineer programs each altar-platform to the specific tirthankar idol dimensions. Polish done by our finish specialist with 20+ years on matte-Corian detailing.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will kesar paste or milk stain the Corian altar?
No. Corian is a non-porous acrylic solid surface. Kesar, milk, ghee and flower residue wipe off with a damp cloth and leave zero staining. This is one of the primary reasons Jain households choose Corian over marble.

Q: Can you size the altar platform to our specific tirthankar idol?
Yes. Share the idol base width and height with us, and we cut the platform aperture and ring to exact fit. The idol sits stable without slipping, and the surrounding Corian reads as a fitted plinth.

Q: Is the minimalist Jain style really just less carving?
Partly — but it is also about proportion. Jain mandirs traditionally emphasise vertical pillar lines, restrained ornament, and an altar scale matched to tirthankar idol size (not Hindu deity size). We size and proportion specifically for Jain households.

Q: Can we add a derasar-style stepped crown for the villa version?
Yes. Our premium and temple-hall Jain builds commonly include a 3- or 5-step derasar crown that echoes formal derasar architecture without overwhelming the home setting.

Q: Does the compact 24 inch version fit on a sideboard?
Yes. The 24 x 27 x 14 inch compact format is specifically designed for sideboard or niche placement. Many NRI Jain apartments in USA and UK use exactly this size on a living-room sideboard.

Q: Do you ship to Jain families in the USA and UK?
Yes. We regularly ship to Jain households in NJ, TX, IL, CA, and across Greater London and Leicester. Compact sizes travel by air freight (5–8 days); larger sizes by sea (14–25 days).
