Premium Corian Mandir with Doors, Sitting Platform & Storage Cabinet
This is a full-height Corian home temple with carved shutter doors a complete floor-standing shrine that closes into a clean, dust-free cabinet and opens into a backlit sanctum. Twin hand-pierced doors carry a tree-of-life and elephant motif; when shut, a warm LED behind the cutwork makes the whole front glow like a lantern. Open them and the deity sits inside an arched, backlit niche on a raised pooja platform, above a carved storage cabinet and drawers that form the base. Built by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ installations delivered across India, USA, UK, Canada and Australia. The designs shown here are 3D renders; every mandir is hand-built to your chosen size, motif and finish.
A complete temple, not just a cabinet what makes this design different
Most home mandirs give you one thing: an open shelf, or a door, or a storage base. This unit combines all three. The carved shutter doors conceal the deity when worship is over important in living rooms and studio apartments where an always-open altar collects dust and feels exposed. The raised pooja platform sets the deity at aarti height, so daily worship feels right whether you stand or sit cross-legged before it. The cabinet-and-drawer base swallows pooja saman, lamps, books and festive articles, so nothing clutters the shrine. It is a closed mandir, a backlit mandir and a storage mandir in a single Corian body. If you would rather the door slide away, see our pocket-door Corian mandir or browse the full Corian mandir with door range.
The carved shutter doors craftsmanship that separates us
The doors are the signature. Each leaf is cut from 12mm Corian and hand-pierced with a flowing tree-of-life pattern, with a standing elephant carved at the foot of each panel a symbol of stability and prosperity. Behind the pierced face sits a concealed warm-white LED panel, so the closed doors read as a glowing screen rather than a blank box. The leaves hang on concealed soft-close hinges and swing back almost flat against the cabinet sides, so when open they sit out of the way and the shrine is fully presented. A discreet magnetic catch holds them shut flush with the face no visible handles, no gap line. Because the carving is pierced rather than printed, the light passes through real relief it will never peel or yellow.
Inside the backlit sanctum
Open the doors and the interior is a small temple in its own right. A carved arch crowns the niche, detailed with elephant, peacock and kalash motifs in 12mm relief. The back wall carries a backlit mandala-lotus centrepiece and rows of carved hanging diyas, lit from behind in the same warm tone as the doors. The deity stands on the raised, lit pooja platform so the focus falls where it should. Golden inlay to pick out the carved lines is offered as an optional finish the unit shown here is plain white Corian.
Material and finish
The whole mandir is built in Imported -grade Corian (acrylic solid surface) the same material specified for premium kitchen counters. Joints are chemically bonded and sanded back, so the cabinet looks moulded from one piece. Corian does not yellow like cheap PVC-acrylic, does not warp like wood, and is roughly half the weight of marble. The standard finish is a pearl-white satin; choose from 40+ Imported sheet codes including Glacier White, Designer White and Warm Ivory, with optional golden inlay on the carving.
Size specifications
This is a floor-standing unit; the photographed size is the 7ft standard. Every dimension is customisable to the inch. Standard 36″ W × 24″ D × 84″ H (~7ft) the most-ordered size, shown here. Compact 30″ W × 22″ D × 72″ H (~6ft) for smaller pooja rooms. Large 48″ W × 28″ D × 90″ H villa and feature-wall installations. Corian thickness 12mm standard on the carved panels, 19mm premium for the structural base. Pooja-platform height and drawer count are set to your preference.
Customisation what you can change
- Corian colour: 40+ Imported -grade sheet codes Glacier White, Warm Ivory, Pearl Gray and more.
- Door carving: tree-of-life (shown), peacock, vine-and-lotus, or your family-deity motif.
- Golden inlay: full gilding, selective highlight, or plain white relief (shown).
- Backlighting: warm-white (shown), neutral or tunable; doors, arch and mandala lit independently.
- Pooja platform: fixed height, raised step, or omitted for a taller storage base.
- Storage: drawer count, hidden agarbatti tray, locking cabinet for valuables.
- Deity niche: open shelf, tiered steps, or printed backplate of your family deity.
Space suitability
The closed, glowing doors make this design ideal for a living-room feature wall, where the mandir should look considered even when worship is not on shut, it reads as a backlit carved screen, not an exposed altar. The aarti-height platform suits homes where elders worship seated on the floor. The storage base earns its place in apartments where a separate pooja cupboard is not possible. At 7ft it anchors a dedicated pooja room or a villa prayer corner; the 6ft compact build fits standard apartment ceilings.

Expertise the team behind the mandir
The factory is run by the founding family across three generations. Design is led by in-house architects trained in Vastu-compliant proportion. The pierced door carving and the arch relief are done by our senior artisans, each with 15–30 years on Corian specifically. Backlighting is wired and tested in-house; hinges are dry-run and re-set before despatch. Nothing on this mandir is outsourced.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Do the carved doors fully hide the deity when closed?
Yes. Twin hand-pierced Corian doors meet flush at the centre on a concealed magnetic catch, fully screening the shrine. The warm LED behind the cutwork keeps the closed face glowing without revealing the interior.
Q: Is the backlighting on the doors and inside one system?
It is one wiring system with independent zones. Warm-white LED panels light the pierced doors, the carved arch and the mandala-lotus back wall separately, each switchable, all run off a single concealed driver.
Q: Does it include the platform and storage, or are those extra?
Both are part of the unit. A raised pooja platform sets the deity at aarti height, above a carved cabinet-and-drawer base for your pooja articles. Platform height and drawer count are made to your preference.
Q: Are the doors hinged, or pocket/sliding?
Hinged. Each leaf swings on concealed soft-close hinges and folds back almost flat against the cabinet sides, so the open shrine is fully presented. If you prefer a pocket or sliding mechanism, we build those as separate designs.
Q: Is the golden detailing paint or inlay?
It is inlay/gilding worked into the carved relief, not a printed film, so it will not peel. It is optional the unit shown is plain white. Choose full gilding, selective highlight, or plain relief.
Q: Why does this Corian mandir cost around ₹2,25,000?
It is a 7ft floor-standing piece with three built elements pierced backlit shutter doors, a backlit carved sanctum, and a carved storage base in Imported -grade Corian, hand-finished by senior artisans. The price is all-inclusive of carving, multi-zone backlighting, hardware and pan-India delivery and install. Smaller sizes and a plain-relief finish lower the cost.
Q: Can you match a smaller ceiling height?
Yes. The 7ft size shown is standard; we build a 6ft compact version for standard apartment ceilings and scale the platform and base to suit.
