Design theme — rooms it suits

This dual-material design suits four very specific interior styles: (1) contemporary Indian living room — pearl-white Corian altar over walnut-laminate drawers, fitting a TV-and-mandir wall arrangement; (2) modern apartment with wood-tone furniture — warm-ivory Corian over a teak-laminate base that matches existing wardrobes; (3) designer farmhouse — matte-cream Corian above a barnwood-look laminate cabinet; (4) 2-BHK with mid-century furniture — gloss white Corian altar with rosewood-laminate drawer fronts. We pull the laminate code from your existing furniture so the mandir disappears into the room palette instead of fighting it.

Craftsmanship — the dual-material join nobody else nails

The hard part of a mixed-material mandir is the join line between the Corian altar and the laminated base. Cheap copies leave a visible gap or mismatch the depths. Our build does three things differently: (a) the Corian platform overhangs the laminate base by a precise 8 mm with a chamfered underside, casting a deliberate shadow line that hides any seasonal expansion; (b) the laminate panels are edge-banded with a matching 2 mm ABS strip on every visible edge so the wood face never delaminates at corners; (c) the drawer cassettes inside the laminate base ride on full-extension ball-bearing soft-close runners, identical hardware to a top-tier kitchen drawer, and the cabinet door uses a concealed magnetic catch. Every laminated face is sealed at the back with moisture-barrier tape before assembly. Built and finished at our Mumbai factory.

Material & finish

The visible altar (deity backplate, pillars, canopy, top platform) is DuPont-grade Corian acrylic solid surface — non-porous, seam-welded, will not yellow over decades. The storage base is engineered-board core with a high-pressure laminate (HPL) face in your chosen wood tone — significantly more abrasion-resistant than veneer and impervious to incense ash and kumkum. Forty-plus DuPont Corian shades are stocked; laminate is available in 30+ wood tones from light oak through walnut to rosewood. Compared to a fully wooden mandir this design has no warp risk on the altar (Corian is dimensionally stable); compared to a fully Corian mandir it carries warmer texture in the room.
