Acrylic Mandir for Home with Full Sliding Door
The full sliding door corian mandir takes a different approach to closure than pocket and hinged designs — a single full-face panel slides across the front of the cabinet on a ball-bearing track, opening and closing silently with one finger. The full-sliding format is preferred where the homeowner wants a clean, large-format closed face (the door is the cabinet face) and where the wall on either side of the mandir is open enough for the door to slide across it. Hand-built by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ installations delivered across India and to USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Design theme — which interiors it fits
Full-sliding doors suit: (1) modern apartment with open wall around the mandir — the door slides across the wall, not into a cavity; (2) contemporary Indian home with minimalist aesthetic — the closed door is a single clean panel, the open shrine is the full cabinet width; (3) villa pooja room with optional glass-panel sliding door so the deity is visible even when the door is closed; (4) commercial / housing-society temple where the sliding door doubles as a security closure with optional lock. We do not recommend full-sliding for narrow apartment passages — pocket-door is the better choice there.
Full-sliding door engineering — track, seal, safety
The full-sliding format demands serious hardware. Our build uses: (a) a top-hung ball-bearing aluminium track with silent rollers, rated for the weight of a full-face Corian panel (12 mm or 19 mm); (b) a dust seal strip along the closed edge so airborne kitchen and city dust does not enter the shrine; (c) a safety stop at each end of the track so the door does not derail or over-travel; (d) optional glass-panel insert within the Corian door frame for the homeowner who wants the deity visible when the door is closed; (e) optional lockable handle for security or child-safety. We dry-run every unit through 200 cycles before despatch and align the rollers so the door travels with one finger from open to closed.
Material and finish
Whole cabinet in DuPont-grade Corian, joints chemically bonded and sanded flush. The full-face sliding door is built in 12 mm Corian standard or 19 mm premium for larger sizes. Forty-plus sheet codes available. Comparison vs marble (lighter, important on a sliding door), vs wood (no warp on a long sliding panel), vs cheap PVC-acrylic (no yellow on the door face). Optional glass insert is tempered safety glass.
Size specifications
Five standard sizes; every measurement custom-to-inch. Compact 30″ W × 18″ D × 48″ H. Standard 36″ W × 24″ D × 60″ H — most-ordered sliding-door size. Large 48″ W × 30″ D × 72″ H. Premium 60″ W × 36″ D × 84″ H. Temple-hall 72″ W × 42″ D × 96″ H+. Corian thickness 12 mm standard, 19 mm premium for door panels above 48 inches wide so the panel does not flex on the track.

Delivered to 18 US states, UK, Canada, Australia and 28 Indian states.
Expertise
Three-generation family business. In-house Vastu-trained architects design the layout and door direction. Frequently asked questions
Q: What kind of track does the sliding door run on?
A top-hung ball-bearing aluminium track with silent rollers, rated for the weight of a full-face 12 mm or 19 mm Corian door. The track is dry-run 200 cycles at our factory before despatch.
Q: Can the sliding door have a glass panel option?
Yes. We build a Corian frame around a tempered safety-glass insert so the deity is visible even when the door is closed. Common combinations include clear glass, frosted glass, or coloured glass for festival aesthetics.
Q: Is the sliding door child-safe?
The track has safety stops at each end so the door cannot derail or over-travel. An optional magnetic latch holds the door closed during light play. For more secure child-proofing we offer a keyed lockable handle.
Q: Will the sliding door derail over time?
No. Top-hung ball-bearing tracks are rated for 50,000+ cycles when correctly sized for the door weight. Our 200-cycle factory dry-run confirms alignment; safety stops at each end prevent derailment in any case.
Q: Can the door be made lockable?
Yes. We offer a magnetic latch (light closure), a keyed lockable handle (security closure for commercial use), or a child-safety latch with a release mechanism out of reach.
Q: Do you ship full-sliding-door Corian mandirs internationally?
Yes. Over 200 Corian mandirs delivered to North America. The sliding track ships pre-aligned and protected; the full door panel ships in a separate corner-padded crate; assembly takes around 2 to 3 hours with WhatsApp-video support.
