Acrylic Mandir with Pocket Doors
The standard acrylic mandir with pocket doors takes the disappearing-door idea and runs it across both sides — twin panels that part from the centre and tuck into hidden cavities on either side. The open shrine then reads as a single flush niche from corner to corner, no door edge anywhere on the front face. The split-pocket layout suits the 36-inch standard size best because it gives a wider clear opening for two-handed aarti and unobstructed visibility of multiple deity idols. Built by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ installations delivered across India and to USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Design theme — which interiors it fits
The twin pocket layout reads cleanest in: (1) contemporary apartment — matte white Corian, plain doors, vertical handle slots; (2) designer Indian villa — warm ivory body with mirror-image om motifs that become a single composition when closed; (3) Marwari-Gujarati family home — pearl-white Corian with kalash-and-bell motif split symmetrically; (4) premium 2-BHK / 3-BHK pooja room — full 36 to 48 inch width where the symmetry of the twin doors becomes the focal point of the space. Closed, the cabinet looks like a curated wall panel; open, it reveals the full shrine without a single visible door edge.
Pocket door engineering — twin-panel synchronisation
The twin layout uses two independent top-hung soft-close aluminium tracks, one per side, with silent nylon rollers. We synchronise the centre meeting line to within 0.5 mm so the closed seam reads as a single hairline groove and never as a gap. Dust gaskets line both pocket openings; both leading edges are hand-bevelled to land flush at the centre. Each panel is independently removable for cleaning. The track is fixed with captive screws and tested through a 200-cycle dry run at our Mumbai factory before despatch — we want the doors to slide with one finger five years from now, not just on day one.
Material and finish
Whole cabinet in DuPont-grade Corian, the same acrylic solid surface used in luxury kitchen counters. Joints are chemically bonded and sanded flush so the body looks moulded from a single piece. Corian does not yellow, does not warp, will not stain from agarbatti smoke when wiped down, and is roughly half the weight of marble. 40+ sheet codes available; for twin-pocket designs we recommend a single colour across both doors so the closed seam reads as deliberate.
Size specifications
Five standard sizes, every measurement customisable to the inch. Compact 24″ W × 18″ D × 36″ H. Standard 36″ W × 24″ D × 60″ H — the most-ordered size for twin-pocket layouts in 2-BHK pooja rooms. Large 48″ W × 30″ D × 72″ H — the size at which twin pockets visually balance best. Premium 60″ W × 36″ D × 84″ H. Temple-hall 72″ W × 42″ D × 96″ H+. Corian thickness 12 mm standard, 19 mm premium for the larger sizes. Each pocket adds about 3 inches to its respective side, already in the outer dimension.

We use only authentic DuPont-grade Corian, never the cheap PVC-acrylic that yellows. Twin-pocket synchronisation is a craft skill that takes years — one of the reasons we keep it in-house. Expertise
Three-generation family business. In-house Vastu-trained architects design every layout. Twin-pocket alignment is supervised by our production head; six senior carving artisans (15–30 years each on Corian) hand-finish every door edge so the centre seam closes hairline. CNC programming, carving, polishing and hardware fitting all happen under one roof.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How is the twin pocket door different from a sliding door?
Twin pockets disappear into both side cavities so the open shrine has a fully unbroken face. A sliding door always remains visible on the front. Twin pockets give the widest clear opening for the cabinet width.
Q: Do both doors fully hide when open?
Yes. Each pocket is milled 6 mm deeper than its panel, so each door tucks completely inside. The full cabinet width opens as a single uninterrupted niche.
Q: Will the twin tracks fall out of sync?
No. Each track is independent but factory-aligned to within 0.5 mm at the centre seam. We dry-run each unit 200 cycles per door before despatch and use captive screws so adjustment never loosens.
Q: Are the panels removable for cleaning?
Yes. Each door lifts off its track tool-free after releasing two captive screws at the carrier. Clean both cavities annually before Diwali.
Q: Does the centre seam show a gap when closed?
No. We hand-bevel both leading edges to a tight chamfer that lands within 0.5 mm. Closed, the seam reads as a single hairline groove, not a gap.
Q: Do you ship twin-pocket mandirs to USA and Canada?
Yes. Twin-pocket exports ship flat with numbered parts; tracks ship pre-aligned and protected. Over 200 Corian mandirs delivered to North America with WhatsApp-video install support.
