Acrylic Pooja Mandir for Home — Custom Jaali Build

An acrylic pooja mandir for home should feel made for your specific wall, your specific deity and your specific family traditions — not pulled off a shelf. This build is our custom-first acrylic unit: you specify the jaali motif, the door configuration, the shelf layout and the colour, and we draw the 3D render before any material is cut. Families who want the agility of acrylic with the attention of bespoke joinery choose this build. Manufactured in Mumbai by Satguru Creations, a three-generation family workshop running since 1975, with 10,000+ mandirs delivered and a review average of 4.8/5 from 291 verified customers.

Design theme and style fit

Because the piece is custom-drawn, it is designed to slot into almost any interior — but four pairings recur most often in our order book: (1) contemporary Indian home — warm ivory cast acrylic, traditional peacock-and-kalash jaali, hinged front doors; (2) modern minimalist apartment — gloss white, pure-geometry jaali (vertical-slot or om lattice), handleless face; (3) designer villa — dual-tone finish, tall jaali doors with warm-white LED strip behind them; (4) export South-Asian diaspora homes — clients abroad often want a piece that does not read "imported temple store", so we keep lines cleaner and detail quieter for USA, UK and Canada shipments.

Craftsmanship — custom jaali as the centrepiece

The jaali is the heart of this build, and every jaali on this unit is CNC-cut from UV-stable cast acrylic, then hand-deburred along every inner cut so the fretwork reads crisp at close range. Motif options include classic trellis, peacock-and-kalash, lotus lattice, om geometry, swastik borders, or a custom family motif traced from a reference image you supply. Cut depth is controlled so even delicate patterns retain structural strength. Drawers run on ball-bearing runners; doors close on concealed soft-close hinges; the carcass edges are all acrylic-banded so no substrate shows. Everything is assembled at our Mumbai factory, dry-fitted, then crated — nothing is shipped loose for a sub-contractor to bodge together at your end.

Material and finish

Face panels and jaali in non-yellowing cast acrylic sheet; carcass in sealed 18 mm BWP plywood. On the Corian line we use DuPont-grade solid surface — on this acrylic line the substrate is lighter, the cost is lower, the finish logic is the same. Compared to marble the whole unit is roughly half the weight for the same external volume, which matters for apartment floors and overseas freight. Compared to solid wood the piece will not warp in Mumbai monsoon humidity. Compared to cheap PVC-acrylic sheet the cast grade we use holds clarity and colour across years of daily pooja rather than fogging after a season.

Size specifications

Five standard sizes, every dimension customised to the inch. Compact 24" W x 18" D x 36" H — apartment niche. Standard 36" W x 24" D x 60" H — most-ordered spec for 2-BHK flats. Large 48" W x 30" D x 72" H — dedicated pooja room. Premium 60" W x 36" D x 84" H — villa feature wall. Temple-hall 72" W x 42" D x 96" H+ — large family homes and community spaces. Acrylic face thickness 10 mm standard, 12 mm on larger builds. Platform depth extendable to 30" for seated aarti. Wall-mount variant available up to 48".

Customisation — what you can change

  • Jaali motif: trellis, peacock-and-kalash, lotus, om geometry, swastik, or bespoke family design.
  • Acrylic colour: glacier white, warm ivory, pearl grey, frost-translucent, gloss or matte.
  • Door type: hinged jaali, sliding jaali, pocket door, or no-door open altar.
  • Storage: drawers on ball-bearing runners, concealed soft-close cabinets, agarbatti tray, hidden backplate niche.
  • Deity panel: printed family-deity backplate, mirror acrylic, or plain ivory.
  • Lighting: warm-white LED behind jaali, dimmable, festival RGB.
  • Plinth: 4" floor plinth or wall-mounted floating cleat.

Space suitability

Apartment pooja room: the standard 36" size sits cleanly in a 10 x 12 ft room. Designer villa shrine: the premium 60" size with dual-tone finish and lit jaali becomes the room's anchor. Compact 1-BHK: the compact 24" size is wall-mountable so no floor space is lost. Export USA / UK / Canada condos: custom-drawn jaali lets overseas clients match their kitchen/interior palette; the lighter acrylic-plywood build keeps freight cost sensible. Community hall: the temple-hall size with open jaali cabinet fronts suits housing-society pooja halls where multiple families use the space.

The process — consult to install

Why Satguru Creations

Founded in 1975, Satguru Creations was Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer and now carries a parallel acrylic line staffed by the same senior artisans. 10,000+ mandirs delivered, 4.8/5 from 291 verified reviews, export to USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe. Every piece carries a lifetime consultation guarantee. We own the Mumbai workshop, we own the process, and we do not sub-contract carving or jaali routing — which is why our jaali edges read cleaner than mass-produced units.

Expertise — the team behind the custom build

Custom jaali design requires balance between motif beauty and structural integrity — too thin and the lattice snaps during crating, too thick and the pattern reads heavy. Our design leads are in-house architects trained in Vastu-compliant proportion and classical motif vocabulary. CNC programming is in-house. Finishing is done by six senior artisans with 15–30 years of acrylic and Corian work. A licensed electrician vets the LED circuit before every despatch.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can the jaali pattern be truly custom?
Yes. Send a reference image or sketch over WhatsApp, we trace and vectorise it, and CNC-cut it into the door and backplate at no extra charge on standard sizes.

Q: Is acrylic different from Corian?
Yes, honestly. Corian is DuPont-grade solid surface, heavier and seamless. This unit is high-grade cast acrylic on a sealed plywood carcass, lighter and more accessible. Same workshop, same artisans, same QC.

Q: Will the acrylic yellow over time?
No. We specifically use UV-stable cast acrylic for this line. Cheap PVC-acrylic sheet fogs within about 18 months, but this grade holds its clarity for years of daily pooja.

Q: Do you deliver globally?
Yes. We ship to USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Europe with full export documentation (commercial invoice, HSN, export declaration). Sea freight 14–25 days, air freight 5–8 days.

Q: How long does a custom build take?
Lead time is 12–18 working days for custom jaali motifs, plus transit. Consult to delivered altar in India is typically 3–4 weeks; overseas transit adds 2–4 weeks depending on mode.

Q: Do you provide free delivery in Mumbai?
Yes. Pan-Mumbai delivery and install is included at no extra cost. Rest-of-India and export shipments are quoted transparently as part of the fixed price.
