Luxury Large Corian Temple with Round Pillars and Golden Inlay

The defining feature of this large mandir is the pair of fully round, Corian-turned pillars — not faux-carved pilasters — each wrapped in a hand-applied gold-leaf Gayatri mantra band. Round pillars are the hardest shape to execute in Corian; most manufacturers fake them with half-rounds bonded onto flat panels. We turn ours on a custom lathe jig at our Mumbai factory. The result is a shrine that reads as stone-temple architecture in a material that weighs one-third of marble. Manufactured by Satguru Creations, Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer since 1975, with 10,000+ installations across India and export to USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

Design styles

Round pillars and gold inlay are luxury architectural signatures, and this unit anchors four contexts: (1) heritage Gujarati or Marwari villa shrine — ornate gold-on-ivory, traditional square plinth, brass-tone LED behind the mantra band; (2) large housing-society temple — restrained palette with gold inlay reserved for the mantra band; (3) overseas Hindu community temple or ashram — full traditional kalash finials, multi-tier pedestal; (4) corporate chairman's office shrine or premium hotel spiritual room — dual-tone Corian with champagne-gold inlay, dimmable warm-white backlight. The round pillars receive the idol arch and frame the deity line-up without the visual weight of stone columns.

Pillar turning and gold-inlay craftsmanship

A round Corian pillar is built in a three-step process. First we CNC-cut a Corian slab to a thick octagonal blank. Second we turn the blank on a temperature-controlled jig — Corian is heat-sensitive and will crack if turned too fast. Third, the pillar is hand-sanded through 400, 800 and 2000 grit until the surface reads as a single continuous curve. Only then does the gold-leaf Gayatri mantra get hand-laid in a channel milled 1.5 mm into the pillar face. The leaf is sealed under a UV-cure Corian-compatible lacquer so it does not tarnish from lamp smoke. The backlit arch sits between the two pillars on a concealed steel lintel, warm-white 3000 K LED hidden in a 6 mm rear channel.

Material and finish

Genuine DuPont-grade Corian acrylic solid surface. Non-porous. Seamless when bonded. Does not yellow, warp or crack. We never use PVC-acrylic — the cheap material that yellows in 2–3 years under diya heat. Over 40 Corian shade codes available; this design shows best in Warm Ivory, Glacier White, Pearl Gray or a dual-tone ivory-and-cream pairing. Gold inlay options: 22K gold leaf, champagne gold, antique brass, or rose gold. The round pillar turning and the gold band make this a statement-level luxury piece — compared to marble it is easier to relocate, and compared to teak it will not warp in monsoon humidity or desert dryness.

Large-hall size specifications

This round-pillar design scales up, not down. Large 72″ W × 36″ D × 96″ H — villa or large society pooja room. Premium 84″ W × 42″ D × 108″ H — ashram inner sanctum, luxury villa feature wall. Temple-hall 96″ W × 48″ D × 120″ H — community temple, corporate chairman's office shrine. XL temple-hall 120″ W × 54″ D × 132″ H — overseas Hindu temple or hotel spiritual room. Built-to-site for 12-foot-plus walls with four-pillar hypostyle configuration. Corian thickness 12 mm standard, 19 mm premium. Pillar diameter options: 4″, 6″ or 8″ turned solid. Sub-frame is reinforced galvanised steel for lift transport.

Customisation

  • Corian colour: 40+ DuPont shades, dual-tone pairings, anti-microbial coating for hospital use.
  • Pillar diameter and profile: 4″, 6″, or 8″ round; plain, fluted, lotus-base, or kalash-capped.

Why Satguru Creations

Round Corian pillars and authentic gold-leaf inlay are a rare combination because they need two different factory disciplines under one roof — we have both. Founded in 1975 as Mumbai's first Corian mandir manufacturer, we have delivered 10,000+ units and hold a 4.8/5 rating across 291 verified customers. Our artisan team has a combined 200+ years on Corian specifically. We offer a lifetime consultation guarantee, proper GST invoice, export paperwork, and bulk-order capacity for multi-site deployments. Not a trading counter — we are the factory.

The team behind the temple

Three generations of the founding family run the workshop. In-house architects apply agama-shastra and Vastu proportions to every drawing. Six senior Corian carvers, each with 15–30 years of hand-finish experience, cover pillar turning, carving and gold inlay. A licensed electrician vets every LED loom. Production engineer signs off steel sub-frames for commercial orders. Our site-survey team handles trust, society and overseas temple committee liaison directly.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Are the round pillars fully turned or just half-round facades?
Fully turned. Each pillar starts as an octagonal Corian blank and is lathed, sanded and polished as a single continuous round. We do not bond half-rounds; that produces a visible seam we will not ship.

Q: How is the gold leaf protected from lamp smoke and handling?
The leaf sits in a 1.5 mm recessed channel and is sealed under a UV-cure Corian-compatible lacquer. It does not tarnish from diya smoke and wipes clean with a soft cloth.

Q: Do you ship this unit to USA and UK Hindu temples?
Yes. We have exported large round-pillar installations to USA, UK and Canada. Knock-down container shipping, numbered parts, assembly video and WhatsApp-video remote support on install day.

Q: Is GST invoice issued to a trust or society?
Yes. Proper GST invoice in the trust, society or company name with HSN code. Commercial invoice and export declaration supplied for overseas orders.

Q: Which colour works best with gold inlay?
Warm Ivory and Glacier White hold gold best. Pearl Gray gives a modern luxury pairing. For a deeper heritage palette we suggest dual-tone Warm Ivory with Canvas on the plinth.

Q: Can you scale this to a four-pillar hypostyle for a larger hall?
Yes. Built-to-site configurations include four- and six-pillar layouts with matched pillar diameters. Ceiling-height and floor-load drawings required before cutting.
